UPDATE: Phuket Police Give Update on Security Guard Attacked by Contractors

Phuket –

A negotiation process is being suggested after a security guard was attacked by contractors at a housing estate in Koh Kaew, Mueang Phuket.

Our previous story:

A security guard was attacked by contractors at a housing estate in Koh Kaew. Mr. Utain and Mr. Kongsin have already filed a report to the Phuket City Police with CCTV footage evidence.

Now for the update:

The Mueang Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express on Friday (March 31st) that they have followed up on all the people who attacked the security guard.

Phuket police are suggesting a mutual negotiation process with both parties referring to the Dispute Mediation Act in order to decrease cases in courts and to decrease disputes.

This would essentially allow the security guards to negotiate for a financial settlement with the contractors and in return drop any legal charges.

As of press time, the victims had not made a final decision on if they planned to settle for an undisclosed amount and drop charges. However, both sides were working with police and stated they wanted to seek a mutual closure to the dispute that was acceptable for both parties.
