Small Boats in Phuket Banned From Going Into The Sea

The Phuket Marine Office has issued a warning informing that small boats are being banned from leaving ports into the open sea until June 4th, 2023.

The Phuket Marine Office Chief Mr. Nachapong Pranit told the Phuket Express that according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), from May 30th to June 4th heavy rain will take place along with strong waves in the Andaman Sea up to three meters high in the open sea or more than three meters high in a thunderstorm area.

The Phuket Marine Office issued a warning on Tuesday (May 30th) for boat captains to be more careful when traveling at sea. Small boats of less than 10 meters length are being BANNED from leaving ports into the open sea from until June 4th, 2023.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned of heavy rain across Thailand and possible flash floods in the southern and eastern regions.

  • Southern (Andaman Sea)

Possible rain with a chance of about 70 percent in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Waves are more than three meters in thunderstorm areas.
