On September 29th, local officials, including Pol. Col. Chatree Chukaew, Superintendent of Phuket City Police Station, met with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Thailand to coordinate security and logistics for the visit. Among the U.S. delegation were Mr. Lou Pham and Mr. Robert Robinson, Deputy Assistant Defense Attachés, who discussed schedules and cooperation with Thai authorities.

The visit will bring approximately 4,800 sailors from the USS George H.W. Bush and 320 personnel from the USS Delbert D. Black to Phuket. Authorities focused on the importance of safety and reminded visiting sailors to respect Thai laws while enjoying the island’s attractions.

Beyond its diplomatic and military significance, the port call is expected to provide a boost to Phuket’s tourism and local economy. With thousands of crew members exploring the city, businesses ranging from restaurants and hotels to local shops are preparing for a surge in activity.

This visit shows the strong ties between Thailand and the United States, highlighting both nations’ commitment to regional cooperation and security while also fostering cultural exchange through people-to-people interactions.
