Thailand –

Sixteen-year-old Thai rocker Nene Royal, whose real name is Praew Rattikan Amloy, has claimed the top prize on America’s Got Talent Season 21, becoming the first contestant from Thailand to win the long-running NBC competition.

The Phuket native was crowned champion during the live results finale on September 23rd, 2026 (early morning of September 24th in Thailand), at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles. She edged out magician Geno Ploeger to take home the $1 million grand prize and the title of Season 21 winner.

Nene advanced to the finals after receiving Mel B’s Golden Buzzer during the live quarterfinals. In the grand finale performance night, she delivered a powerful, reimagined cover of The White Stripes’ classic “Seven Nation Army,” showcasing her distinctive vocals and sharp guitar work. The performance drew standing ovations and strong praise from the judges. Mel B expressed pride in having given her the Golden Buzzer, showing her unique stage presence and Thai roots. Sofía Vergara called her one-of-a-kind, while Howie Mandel urged America to “give her the million.”

Adding to the excitement of results night, Nene appeared on stage with a Linkin Park sign after the official America’s Got Talent account had teased the rock icons’ appearance. She had earlier shared her hope of performing with the legendary band, writing, “I wish I could join with them.” That wish came true when she shared the stage with Linkin Park during the results show, creating a memorable moment for fans in Thailand and around the world. She also participated in a jam session backstage posted online with The Warning, the Mexican female rock band she has said inspired her.

Nene’s journey on the show began with a viral audition and live performances that showed her rock and metal influences, including covers of songs by The Cranberries, Soundgarden, and Muse. Her combination of powerful singing and skilled guitar playing quickly built a large international following, with strong support from viewers back home in Thailand.

The victory marks a historic milestone for Thai talent on the global stage and cements Nene Royal’s status as one of the breakout stars of America’s Got Talent Season 21.
