Two Preliminary Drug Positives Recorded over Phuket Inspection of Entertainment Venue

In the early hours of 19 September 2026, local officials carried out a coordinated inspection of an entertainment venue in Phuket Town

The operation, which began around 00:40, was directed by Mueang Phuket District Chief Siwat Rawangkul, who is currently acting as provincial permanent secretary. Several deputy district officers and provincial security assistants also took part.

Officials checked the venue’s operating licence and conducted searches of staff and patrons for weapons. No weapons or related offences were found. Random preliminary drug screening of employees and customers returned two positive results. Authorities stressed that these findings are initial only and will be subject to confirmatory laboratory testing in accordance with standard procedures.
