Phuket;
Authorities in Phuket’s Muang district launched a coordinated inspection of hotels operating without proper licenses, continuing a province-wide push to enforce building, condominium and hotel regulations.
The operation, on Friday (September 18th), Muang Phuket District Chief Siwatch Rawangul, acting for the provincial permanent secretary, led the on-site team. The inspections form part of a broader Interior Ministry directive requiring local agencies to take systematic, transparent and fully documented legal action against unlicensed hotel operations. Officials are applying relevant statutes, including the Building Control Act, the Condominium Act and the Hotel Act.

Initial results show that one local administrative organization has already ordered the suspension of building use at one property. Orders for two additional premises are being prepared. For the remaining unauthorized hotels still under legal proceedings, Muang District will continue coordinating with the relevant local authorities to ensure complete enforcement of the applicable laws.
