Thalang –
Police in Phuket have arrested a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a cement truck driver on Thepkrasattri Road, near the newly constructed airport underpass in Thalang District. The incident, which occurred on the evening of September 17, has been traced to a personal conflict between two colleagues.
At approximately 8:35 p.m., officers from Thalang Police Station responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 32‑year‑old Kittipich, an employee of a private construction company, who had been shot once in the right temple. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The assailant fled immediately after the attack.

Later that night, a coordinated police operation led by senior officers from the Phuket Provincial Police and Region 8 Investigation Division resulted in the arrest of 34‑year‑old Mr. Som in Pa Khlok. Authorities confirmed that Som was a co‑worker of the victim and had longstanding personal disputes with him.

The arrest was carried out under a warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on September 18. Som now faces charges of murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and carrying a weapon in public without authorization.
Investigators are currently questioning the suspect and conducting forensic tests, including gunshot residue analysis, to strengthen the case. Police are also examining the nature of the conflict between the two men to determine the motive behind the shooting.
