One Cannabis Dispensary Faces License Revocation, Another Found Violating Rules in Karon

Phuket’s district administration and public health officials carried out a coordinated inspection of cannabis dispensaries in Karon on September 16th, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to enforce licensing regulations and ensure public safety.

Four shops were inspected. One establishment was formally served with a notice of license revocation. Another licensed shop was found in violation of permit conditions after allowing customers to smoke cannabis inside. Officials documented the breach and will submit the case for further review, with possible license withdrawal pending.

In addition, authorities seized cannabis-derived products suspected of containing controlled substances. These items have been forwarded to investigators for laboratory testing to determine whether they fall under narcotics classification. Officials emphasized that the products remain under examination and no conclusion will be made until test results are confirmed.
