Thailand –
Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has signed an order expelling French citizen Kevin Dimino from Thailand, marking the second deportation under the Interior Ministry’s new enforcement measures.
The decision follows a violent incident on Koh Samui, where Dimino was accused of threatening, assaulting, and intimidating others, causing public disturbance and sowing division among tourists of different nationalities and religions. Authorities described his behavior as reckless and dangerous, posing risks to both people and property.
The Samui Provincial Court found Dimino guilty under Thailand’s Land Traffic Act. He was fined 10,000 baht, reduced to 5,000 baht after pleading guilty. The court also ordered confiscation of evidence and stipulated further penalties if the fine was not paid.
Citing violations of public order, morality, and community safety, the Interior Ministry invoked Section 5 of the Deportation Act (1956) and related regulations to remove Dimino from the kingdom.
Under Thai law, Dimino retains the right to appeal the deportation order directly to the Prime Minister within seven days of notification, seeking either cancellation of the order or suspension of his removal.
