Now for the update:
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred late on September 2nd, when the pharmacist reported that the man initially entered the shop asking for directions to the Patong Police Station and purchasing medication. After briefly leaving, he returned with a spray bottle resembling perfume and discharged it toward the pharmacist, triggering immediate health complications. Emergency services rushed the victim to Patong Hospital.
Following the complaint, investigators identified the suspect as a Kuwaiti tourist and seized two spray bottles for forensic testing. Police arranged a mediation session between the parties, but the suspect failed to appear, sending an Arab friend in his place. He claimed to suffer from mental health problems and presented a plane ticket showing plans to return to Kuwait.
The pharmacist, however, described the suspect’s behavior as threatening and incoherent, resembling intoxication or chemical influence rather than psychiatric illness. Unable to reach an agreement, the victim ultimately chose to drop the matter to prevent escalation.
Authorities revealed that the Kuwaiti man has a history of similar incidents. The seized spray bottles have been sent for scientific analysis to determine their contents. Police also plan to notify the Kuwaiti Embassy about the tourist’s conduct.
