Patong –

A pharmacist working at a drugstore in Patong has issued a public warning after claiming he was attacked by a foreign man who sprayed an unknown substance on him, causing sudden heart palpitations and near collapse.

According to the pharmacist’s social media post, the incident occurred around 12:22 a.m. while he was on duty. A man, described as a foreigner resembling Middle Eastern descent, entered the shop pretending to purchase medicine and engaged him in conversation. Moments later, the suspect retrieved a cloth bag from under a motorcycle seat, pulled out a spray bottle resembling perfume, and sprayed the pharmacist continuously for about 20 seconds, leaving his clothes and body soaked.

Shortly after exposure, the pharmacist reported experiencing rapid heartbeat, chest tightness, and dizziness. He forced the man out of the store before calling Patong Hospital for emergency assistance. Paramedics recorded his blood pressure at 160/100 mmHg and administered intravenous fluids to stabilize his condition.

The pharmacist further noted that hospital staff mentioned a similar incident had recently occurred involving another pharmacist in Patong. He decided to share his experience online to alert fellow business owners, particularly those operating late at night, to be cautious of suspicious customers.

At present, authorities have not confirmed what substance was used in the spray or whether it was capable of causing such symptoms. Investigations are ongoing, and officials are expected to conduct chemical testing to determine the facts.

The pharmacist urged local safety agencies to strengthen security measures in Patong’s nightlife district to reassure both residents and tourists.
