An accident in Phuket has claimed the life of a 19‑year‑old food delivery rider after his motorcycle plunged into an uncovered drainage pipe along Chao Fah Tawan Tok Road in Wichit.
Police reported that the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on September 1st, when the victim, identified only as Mr. Teerapat, was riding his blue Honda Wave 110 towards the Naka Shrine intersection.
Surveillance footage shows his motorcycle suddenly dropping into an open drainage pit near a duty free mall, causing the bike to flip several times. Mr. Teerapat was thrown onto the road and sustained severe injuries. Despite being rushed to Dibuk Hospital nearby, he later succumbed to his wounds.
It has been reported that Mr. Teerapat was helping his mother to deliver food from their home in Thalang for a customer in Chalong in the morning. After that he was planning to be heading to a technical college in Thalang.
