Phuket –
Phuket City Municipality is inviting residents and tourists alike to experience the Por Tor Festival 2026, a cherished cultural tradition of the island’s Chinese community.
Mayor Supachok La-ongpetch stressed the importance of the festival, which honors ancestors through rituals of gratitude and prayer for blessings of prosperity and longevity. At the heart of the celebration is the “Por Tor Turtle” cake, a striking red turtle-shaped pastry symbolizing long life, stability, and good fortune.

To welcome visitors, the municipality has adorned the city with festive decorations, particularly at the iconic Suriyadet Fountain Roundabout, a central landmark transformed into a cultural check-in spot. The area offers a lively atmosphere for strolling, photography, and immersing oneself in the colors of tradition.

The Por Tor Festival not only preserves Phuket’s cultural heritage but also strengthens the city’s appeal as a year-round destination. The municipality encourages everyone to join in sustaining this unique tradition while enjoying the charm of Phuket’s cultural tourism.
The celebrations run through September 10, 2026, offering plenty of opportunities to witness and participate in this meaningful event.
