Authorities in Phuket have shut down an unauthorized childcare facility operated by a Myanmar national, following complaints from local residents in Wichit.
On August 26th, 2026, officers from Wichit Police Station, accompanied by the village headman inspected the site after receiving reports from the community. They discovered a 40‑year‑old Myanmar woman running a daycare service inside a rented row house without proper authorization.
Police charged her with multiple offenses, including working outside the scope permitted for foreign nationals and establishing a childcare center without a license. The suspect was taken into custody, and investigators are now gathering further evidence to determine whether additional charges should be filed before prosecution.
