Local administrative officials and police forces in Phuket joined hands in a late-night operation this week to tighten security and crack down on illegal activities in Chalong. The integrated checkpoint was set up in Chalong.
The operation focused on screening individuals and vehicles to intercept narcotics, weapons, and other contraband. Officers conducted strict inspections, wanting to deter crime and enhance safety for both residents and tourists.
During the checkpoint, authorities successfully apprehended offenders and seized multiple items of evidence, including methamphetamine pills, crystal meth, short and long knives, and an axe.
Officials stated that the coordinated effort was part of ongoing measures to prevent violence, curb drug trafficking, and maintain public order in Phuket’s tourist areas. The presence of law enforcement at key points is intended not only to enforce the law but also to reassure the community and visitors of their safety.
