The Kusoldharm Foundation in Phuket hosted the second “Tegrajad Potor” ceremony of the year, a ritual dedicated to honoring and offering merit to wandering souls without relatives. Presiding over the event was Phuket Governor Chotnarin Kerdsom, joined by Deputy Governor Romdon Hayiawa, senior officials, and representatives from various agencies.
The “Tegrajad Potor” tradition, observed twice annually, reflects the island community’s enduring faith and compassion. Through offerings and prayers, participants seek to transfer merit to the departed while reinforcing cultural continuity.
This year’s ceremony also carried a strong spirit of generosity. The Kusoldharm Foundation prepared 3,000 sets of rice and dried food to distribute among local residents, extending practical support alongside spiritual observance.
Organizers said that the event is not only a preservation of ancestral customs but also a bridge between faith and social responsibility. By combining merit-making with charitable acts, the ceremony strengthens community bonds and ensures that Phuket’s cultural heritage remains vibrant for future generations.
