Surat Thani –
Israeli Ambassador to Thailand, Dr. Alona Fisher-Kamm, met with senior police officials in Surat Thani on August 17 to discuss tourist safety and coordination in providing assistance to Israeli visitors in the province.
Fisher-Kamm met Pol. Maj. Gen. Setthasak Yimcharoen, commander of Tourist Police Division 3, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Suwat Suksri, commander of Surat Thani Provincial Police. The discussions covered security, visitor assistance, and communication between the embassy and local authorities, given the large number of Israeli tourists traveling to the province each year.
The meeting also addressed responsible tourism, including respect for local customs and traditions and positive interaction between visitors and local communities. Closer communication between the embassy and authorities is expected to support timely assistance for tourists when needed.
The Israeli Embassy thanked Surat Thani authorities and other agencies for their welcome and continued cooperation. Both sides will maintain coordination to ensure a safe environment for visitors and encourage responsible conduct during their stays in the province.
