Provincial authorities in Phuket have arrested a 21‑year‑old Thai man after discovering four homemade firearms and 22 rounds of ammunition during a special operation targeting high‑risk areas.
Authorities told the Phuket Express that the raid took place in Rassada, conducted at 4:25 p.m. on August 18 led by Akara Suwattikul, Chief of Provincial Security, following complaints of youth gatherings and concerns about illegal weapons.
Officers seized four improvised guns: a 12‑gauge shotgun, a .38 revolver‑style weapon, and two pen‑style firearms capable of firing .38, .380, and .22 LR ammunition. The cache also included 22 rounds, eight shotgun shells, one .38 round, two .380 rounds, and eleven .22 LR rounds.
The suspect has been charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition under Thailand’s Firearms Act of 1947.
