Phuket police have arrested three suspects following a violent incident in which a group of teenagers allegedly used a firearm to threaten rivals in Rassada.
The arrests were announced on August 13th, 2026, during a press briefing led by Phuket Governor Chotnarin Kerdsom, Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum, and senior district officials.
The incident occurred in the early hours of August 12th, when police received reports of gunfire in Soi Tha Ruea, Rassada. Investigators quickly identified the suspects and, by 6 p.m. the same day, apprehended three individuals. Officers seized a Remington 870 shotgun along with ammunition and related equipment.
The suspects now face multiple charges, including attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, carrying weapons in public without authorization, and discharging a firearm in a public area without cause. Authorities have also secured arrest warrants for five additional suspects believed to be involved.
Police investigations revealed that the confrontation stemmed from a prior dispute between the two groups. The assailants allegedly lay in wait near the entrance of the soi before firing shots to intimidate their rivals and fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
