Koh Kaew –
A fire broke out at a worker camp in Koh Kaew on Sunday (August 9th), but emergency response teams successfully contained the blaze without any reported injuries or fatalities.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. in Soi 24, Koh Kaew, where the camp, constructed primarily of zinc-sheet structures, spanned about two rai. Flames quickly spread through the site, raising concerns of potential damage and disruption in the area.
Local disaster prevention and mitigation teams from the Koh Kaew Subdistrict Administrative Organization, supported by community leaders and related agencies, mobilized three water trucks to battle the fire. By 7:40 p.m., officials had managed to bring the situation under control, continuing to douse the area to prevent reignition.
Traffic police were deployed to manage congestion around the site, ensuring safety and smooth passage for nearby residents. Authorities confirmed that no workers were injured in the incident, and no fatalities have been reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as officials work to determine what sparked the blaze.
