Officials in Phuket have launched proceedings to revoke the license of a cannabis shop in Wichit Subdistrict, following complaints and a subsequent inspection that uncovered multiple violations of operating conditions.
The inspection on Friday (August 7th) came after local residents reported gatherings and cannabis smoking inside the establishment, raising concerns about public nuisance.
A team visited the premises. While the shop held a valid license, inspectors found evidence of cannabis consumption on-site, missing mandatory tax documents (Por Thor 27, Por Thor 28, and Por Thor 33), and no proof of compliance with Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) standards.
Authorities documented the findings and initiated formal steps to recommend license revocation. The action aligns with the government’s broader policy to tighten control over cannabis businesses, curb drug-related nuisances, and safeguard both residents and tourists.
