Provincial authorities in Phuket launched a coordinated operation against illegal cigarette sales, resulting in three arrests and the seizure of contraband valued at more than 600,000 baht.
The raid, carried out at 7 p.m., joined forces with officers from Phuket City Police Station to execute court-approved search warrants. Teams targeted shops in Mueang Phuket and Thalang districts suspected of selling untaxed foreign cigarettes.
Authorities successfully raided three shops, two in Mueang Phuket and one in Thalang, arresting three suspects and filing complaints to seek an additional arrest warrant for another individual believed to be involved. Large quantities of foreign cigarettes were confiscated, with an estimated street value exceeding 600,000 baht.
The suspects and seized goods were handed over to investigators at Phuket City Police Station and Tha Chatchai Police Station for prosecution.
