The Kathu Police Station successfully dismantled a local illegal fish fighting betting ring with 14 gamblers arrested.
The Kathu Police told the Phuket Express that they arrested 14 individuals involved in illegal betting on fish fighting matches. Evidence seized at the scene included:
- Cash totaling 240 baht
- Six fighting fish
- A handwritten betting slip
- One glass jar used in the matches
The suspects face charges of “colluding in illegal gambling (fish fighting) for monetary gain without authorization.” All detainees and evidence have been handed over to investigators at Kathu Police Station for prosecution under Thai law.
