Phuket

Customs officers at Phuket International Airport intercepted two French and two Swiss nationals attempting to smuggle more than 33 kilograms of cannabis out of Thailand, with an estimated street value of 2.6 million baht.

Officers told the Phuket Express that the suspects, identified as Mr. Sean , 19, and Mr. Marcus, 18, both Swiss nationals; Ms. Shaina, 18, of France; and Mr. Alassane , 26, also of France, were detained at the international departures terminal in Thalang District after officials discovered cannabis flowers and processed marijuana concealed inside their luggage.

During questioning, all four suspects admitted ownership of the luggage and the narcotics. Authorities charged them with attempting to export goods without passing through customs procedures. They were handed over, along with the seized contraband, to investigators at Sakhu Police Station for prosecution.
