Authorities Fine 23 Illegal Jet Ski Operators up to 10,000 Baht in Phuket Sweep

Phuket –

The Phuket Regional Marine Office has launched a sweeping crackdown on illegal jet ski operations, seizing 23 vessels and issuing fines of up to 10,000 baht each. The enforcement drive follows directives from Deputy Transport Minister Sornphet Boonyamanee, who recently visited the province and urged officials to tighten oversight of maritime tourism services.

At 8:00 a.m. yesterday officials uncovered multiple operators using jet skis without proper licenses, a violation of Section 9 of the Thai Navigation in Thai Waters Act.

All offenders were penalized at the maximum legal rate of 10,000 baht per case. Authorities said that strict enforcement is essential to ensure tourist safety, uphold fair competition, and restore confidence in Phuket’s marine tourism industry.
