Anti-narcotics officers in Phuket have arrested a 44-year-old man and seized 400g of Crystal Methamphetamine and 14,128 of Methamphetamine Pills as part of the nationwide “90-Day Anti-Drug Operation.”
On Wednesday (June 8th), the Provincial Police Narcotics Suppression Unit, under the command of Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum, Provincial Police Commander, and senior investigative officers, carried out the raid at a residence in Soi Bang Chee Lao, Rassada Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District.
The suspect, identified only as Mr. Yoi, was taken into custody with the following evidence:
- Crystal methamphetamine (ice): 400.03 grams
- Methamphetamine tablets (yaba): 14,128 pills
- Assets seized: A Honda Forza motorcycle valued at approximately 200,000 baht
Authorities charged the suspect with possession of Category 1 narcotics (ice and methamphetamine) with intent to sell, an offense deemed to endanger public safety and national security. He also faces charges of illegal drug use.
The suspect was transferred to Phuket City Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Officials said that the arrest forms part of the broader 90-day strategy to dismantle drug networks and curb the spread of narcotics in local communities.
