Wichit –
On the night of July 5th, 2026, a fire broke out inside a housing estate in Wichit . The incident was reported at approximately 11:16 p.m., prompting an immediate response from local emergency services.
Mayor Kreetha Chotivichphipat of the Wichit Municipality personally directed the operation, coordinating teams from disaster prevention and mitigation, public safety, rescue services, and officers from Wichit Police Station. Fire engines, water trucks, patrol vehicles, and ambulances were deployed to the scene. Firefighters worked intensively, using water jets to suppress the flames, and managed to bring the situation under control within about 40 minutes.
Fire fighters told the Phuket Express that initial reports confirmed two individuals sustained injuries. They were transported by municipal rescue units to Vachira Phuket Hospital for treatment. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation as authorities continue to examine the site for evidence.
