French National Arrested in Phuket on Interpol Red Notice For Alleged Kidnapping, Hostage Taking, Armed Robbery, Extortion and more.

Thai law enforcement officers have detained a 29‑year‑old French national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice issued at the request of Luxembourg authorities. His charges include kidnapping, hostage taking, armed robbery, extortion, and more.

The arrest was carried out by the Crime Suppression Division Region 8 (CSD Region 8). The suspect, identified only as Mr. Chirrane, was apprehended outside his hotel room at a resort in Patong, Kathu District, Phuket. He is accused of multiple serious offenses in Luxembourg, including:

  • Membership in a criminal organization
  • Money laundering
  • Kidnapping and unlawful detention
  • Hostage‑taking
  • Armed robbery involving multiple perpetrators
  • Extortion

Following his arrest, Mr. Chirrane was transferred to Phuket Immigration for further proceedings and will be extradited to Luxembourg to face charges.
