On Monday (June 29th) Phuket officially welcomed its new governor, Mr. Chotnarin Kerdsom, as he assumed office today. Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Paveerisa Kerdsom, President of the Provincial Interior Housewives Association, the governor arrived at the Phuket Provincial Hall to begin his duties.

The Thai Cabinet approved a high-profile reshuffle within the Ministry of Interior, reassigning Phuket Governor Nirut Phongsitthithavorn to the post of Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Interior. In his place, Chotinrin Kerdsom, currently serving as Deputy Permanent Secretary, has been appointed as the new Governor of Phuket.
