Phuket City burst into color on June 27th as more than 2,000 people joined the Phuket City Pride 2026 parade under the theme “We Are One: Love as One.” The event, held at the Charter Bank intersection in Phuket Town, showcased the province’s commitment to equality, inclusivity, and its image as a world-class tourism destination that welcomes everyone.

Deputy Governor Romdon Hayae-ae presided over the opening ceremony, joined by Teerasak Pholngam, Chairman of Andaman Charoen Co., Ltd. and leader of the Phuket team, alongside government officials, private sector representatives, community groups, and international visitors. Organizers said that the festival was the result of work across all sectors, hoping to position Phuket as a city of diversity and human dignity while boosting tourism and preparing to host the Inter Pride conference later this year.

Festival Highlights
- The city was adorned with rainbow flags and decorations celebrating Pride.
- Creative contests such as PRIDE PAINT: The Art of Equality and a lively Dance Challenge to the anthem “Welcome to Phuket City Pride.”
- Pageantry with Miss Phuket Pride 2026 and performances by renowned artists.
- Over 40 local vendors offered food and products, adding to the festive atmosphere.
- The centerpiece: a spectacular rainbow flag parade through Phuket Old Town, featuring celebrities like Jennifer Kim, Hai Apaporn Nakornsawan, Rasamee Khae Fakuealon, Sinon Loresca, and Kai Varayuth, alongside contestants from Miss Universe Thailand, Miss Grand Thailand, Mister International Thailand, and MGI All Star.

International visitors also shared their excitement. A Russian tourist expressed admiration for Phuket’s openness, noting the joy and smiles throughout the event and praising the province for creating space to celebrate LGBTQ+ diversity. She discussed the pride of seeing communities in Thailand and abroad unite in support of equality.
Beyond Celebration: By embracing diversity and promoting respect across identities, the event reinforced Phuket’s role as an international tourism hub that champions inclusivity. The message of “We Are One” resonated across cultures, reminding participants that love, understanding, and respect can bridge differences and bring communities together.
