Officials discovered 22 foreign nationals, 19 Chinese and 3 Myanmar workers, who were unable to present valid work permits or identification documents. They were detained and transferred to the provincial command unit for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Deputy Governor Ratcharat stated that the crackdown will go beyond routine arrests:
“We must investigate deeper into company structures, shareholders, and funding sources to determine whether these operations involve nominee businesses. The Phuket Model is designed to expose the true masterminds and beneficiaries behind illegal labor practices.”

The model aligns with the government’s broader policy to suppress nominee businesses and unlawful foreign enterprises, while safeguarding legitimate investors who comply with Thai law. Authorities pledged that Phuket will not tolerate illegal activities, stressing that daily inspections of foreign workers and surveillance of potentially suspicious businesses are already underway.
