Police in Cherng Talay have successfully closed a major murder case, arresting two Myanmar nationals wanted for the killing of a compatriot earlier this month.
Authorities revealed that on June 4th officers were alerted to the body of Ye Min Kyaw, 51, found near an abandoned hotel & spa in Thalang. The victim had sustained multiple stab wounds, and forensic investigators recovered a knife sheath at the scene. His motorcycle and passport were also discovered nearby.
Investigators quickly launched a coordinated operation, reviewing CCTV footage along escape routes and interviewing witnesses. The evidence led to arrest warrants issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on June 9th for two suspects who are Mr. Thein Myint (alias Jack) and Mr. Kyaw Khaing (alias Chid Min) charged with jointly committing murder.
On June 10th, Cherng Talay police tracked the suspects to Phunphin, Surat Thani, where they were apprehended. Both men were transported back to Phuket to face prosecution.
