Police in Thalang have intensified their anti-drug operations, arresting two suspects and seizing nearly 1,000 methamphetamine pills.
The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express that the operation was carried out with coordinated raids in high-risk areas.
- First arrest: Officers detained Mr. Thanawat, known as “Mos,” age 30, at his residence in Moo 4, Thepkrasattri Subdistrict. He was found in possession of 127 methamphetamine tablets. He faces charges of illegal possession of a Category 1 narcotic.
- Second arrest: Police apprehended Mr. Awoot, known as “Romri,” age 37, at his home in Moo 9, Pa Khlok Subdistrict. Authorities seized 800 methamphetamine tablets, 6.35 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and a mobile phone. He is accused of possession with intent to distribute, a charge that carries heavier penalties due to its potential impact on community drug circulation.
Both suspects and the confiscated evidence have been handed over to Thalang Police investigators for prosecution.
