Tourists Clash with Security Staff in Patong Nightclub

Patong —

A late-night disturbance at a popular entertainment venue in Patong escalated when a group of female tourists confronted security staff after being asked to undergo a routine check.

According to witnesses, the incident began when security personnel politely requested to inspect the group’s belongings after they were seen taking photos inside the establishment. The request was met with shouting and verbal abuse. Moments later, the tourists reportedly advanced toward the guard, striking him in the face, hitting him repeatedly, and using a handbag as a weapon.

Despite the aggression, the guard refrained from retaliating. Instead, he attempted to restrain the situation by separating individuals, preventing further escalation, and protecting himself without counterattacking.

The altercation drew attention from other patrons but was quickly contained by staff. No serious injuries were reported, though the incident shows the challenges faced by nightlife venues in balancing guest safety with enforcement of house rules.

Authorities are expected to review the matter further, as Patong’s entertainment district continues to focus on both tourist enjoyment and public safety.
