Two Suspects Caught in Patong Drug Sting

Phuket —

Patong Police Station have arrested two suspects on drug trafficking charges, seizing quantities of methamphetamine (ice) and methamphetamine tablets (yaba) following community complaints about illicit drug sales in the area.

Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the first suspect, a 35-year-old woman identified only as Pa, was apprehended in front of a hotel on Phra Metta Road. Officers confiscated five packets of crystal meth weighing 9.48 grams, 27 yaba tablets, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle.

Further investigation led police to a second suspect, a 38-year-old man identified as Kit, who was arrested inside a hotel room in Patong. Authorities seized four packets of crystal meth weighing approximately 1 gram, 40 yaba tablets, and two mobile phones.

Both suspects were charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine and yaba) with intent to sell, trafficking for commercial purposes, and illegal drug use. They were transferred to Patong Police Station for legal proceedings.

Police confirmed that the arrests followed intelligence gathered from local residents who reported suspicious drug activity in the area. Officers organized a sting operation using undercover agents, which successfully led to the arrests and seizure of evidence.
