Alcohol-Fueled Dispute Turns into One Dead, Three Injured in Phuket

Phuket, –

A violent altercation stemming from a drinking session turned deadly in Karon. Police confirmed that one man was killed and three others injured after a dispute escalated into a sword attack outside a residence on Patak Road.

The Karon Police told the Phuket Express that this week they received reports of a fight involving multiple casualties. Officers along with municipal rescue teams, rushed to the scene. Authorities discovered three men lying in pools of blood with multiple slash wounds inflicted by a sharp weapon. Rescue workers provided emergency treatment before transferring the victims to Chalong Hospital.

Shortly after, hospital staff reported that one of the injured, identified as Mr. Ae, 48, succumbed to his injuries due to severe blood loss.

The alleged attacker, Mr. Kit, 37, the homeowner, remained at the scene awaiting police. He admitted to wielding a samurai-style sword during the confrontation and surrendered the weapon to officers. Police then took him into custody for questioning at Karon Police Station.

Investigators are working to determine the full circumstances of the incident, which reportedly began with a verbal dispute during a drinking session and escalated when the group followed the quarrel to Mr. Kit’s home.
