Fire in Wichit Residential Area Leaves Five Injured

A late-night fire broke out in a single-story home on Soi Muang Thong 4, Wichit, shortly after midnight June 1st.

The Wichit Municipality’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division told the Phuket Express that they received reports of the blaze 10 minutes after midnight and immediately dispatched emergency crews. Firefighters arrived with one fire engine, two water trucks, a patrol vehicle, and a rescue unit to contain the flames.

It took crews around one hour and twenty minutes to bring the fire under control. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Preliminary reports confirm that five people sustained injuries and were transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing to examine the site to determine the exact origin of the fire.
