Police Nets Two Suspects in Drug and Online Gambling Raid

Authorities in Phuket have intensified their campaign against narcotics and illicit activities, conducting a targeted raid on a rental property in Wichit. The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of methamphetamine pills, crystal meth, and evidence linked to online gambling.

The raid was led by  Akara Suwattikul, Chief Administrative Officer, alongside district officials and members of the Volunteer Defense Corps. During the search, officers confiscated 178 methamphetamine tablets, 0.45 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and seven other items of evidence.

The suspects now face charges of possession and intent to distribute Category 1 narcotics, as well as illegal drug use. One suspect faces an additional charge for operating unauthorized online slot gambling.

Both individuals, along with the seized evidence, were handed over to investigators at Wichit Police Station for prosecution.
