Rawai –
Police have arrested a 34‑year‑old man accused of breaking into a luxury villa in Rawai earlier this month, stealing cash and jewelry before fleeing the scene.
The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express that on May 12th a foreign resident reported to Chalong Police that an unknown intruder had entered their villa at the Selina Serenity Hotel in Rawai, Muang District, during the night. The suspect allegedly made off with several valuables, including cash and jewelry, before escaping.

Police investigators quickly launched a probe, reviewing CCTV footage, tracing escape routes, and monitoring the movements of potential suspects. Their work led to the Phuket Provincial Court issuing an arrest warrant for Mr. Banphot (surname withheld), on charges of “nighttime burglary in a dwelling.”
Authorities noted that the suspect had no fixed residence and actively tried to evade capture, complicating the investigation. However, detectives eventually discovered that he was hiding in a rented room in Karon, Muang District. On May 26th, officers executed the warrant and arrested him.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to the Rawai burglary and admitted to selling the stolen property in Nonthaburi Province. Police charged him under the court warrant and transferred him to Chalong Police Station for prosecution.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had committed multiple similar burglaries in Rawai and Wichit areas, consistently selling stolen goods to buyers in Nonthaburi. Police are now expanding the investigation to identify and prosecute those who purchased the stolen property.
