Phang Nga –
Tourist Police arrested a Russian national for illegally working as a tour guide in Phang Nga on Thursday (May 21st).
The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that the arrest took place at 10:35 a.m. in the parking area of the Phang Nga Wildlife Breeding Station, following an investigation into reports of unauthorized guiding activities.

Authorities observed the suspect leading a group of foreign tourists, providing commentary on local attractions and facilitating their travel. The group had earlier visited Wat Tham Suwannakhuha before arriving at the wildlife station.

Evidence seized included brochures outlining tour programs and a list of participating tourists. Upon inspection, officials confirmed that the suspect had entered Thailand on a tourist visa, lacked a work permit, and did not hold a licensed tour guide certificate.

The Russian national now faces two charges which are acting as a tour guide without a valid license and working illegally as a foreigner without a work permit.
