Phuket –
Immigration officers in Phuket have revoked the visa of a 39‑year‑old Austrian man after repeated incidents of public disturbance often under the influence of alcohol, ordering his deportation under Thailand’s Immigration Act.
Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that the man, identified only as Mr. Raphael, was reported by local residents in Rawai for disruptive behavior, including blocking traffic lanes, harassing passersby for money, and appearing intoxicated in public. Images of his actions circulated widely on social media, bringing swift investigation by immigration authorities.

Officials confirmed that Raphael had entered Thailand on a temporary tourist visa and later applied for a student visa to study Thai language and culture.
However, his repeated misconduct, linked to alcohol consumption, was deemed a serious violation of public order. Despite earlier warnings and minor penalties, he continued to cause disturbances, leading authorities to conclude that his behavior posed a threat to community safety and damaged the country’s tourism image.
Under Section 54 of the Immigration Act (1979), his permission to remain in Thailand was revoked, and deportation proceedings were initiated.
