Phuket Emergency Medical Center Strengthens Disease Preparedness

Phuket — May 12, 2026

Phuket Emergency Medical Center joined a high-level workshop to review emergency response plans and strengthen readiness for potential epidemic or pandemic scenarios. The session, held at Phuket Deep Sea Port, was held under the direction of Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization President Rewat Areerob.

Leading the center’s delegation were Dr. Kanchana Phanitpichethwong. They participated in a comprehensive exercise designed to integrate public health strategies with coordinated emergency response.

The workshop focused on inter-agency teamwork, wanting to enhance surveillance, prevention, and rapid response capabilities in the face of public health emergencies. Officials said that such preparedness not only strengthens confidence in the province’s health infrastructure but also reassures both residents and international visitors of Phuket’s commitment to safety.

By reinforcing epidemic readiness, this is part of Phuket’s overall strategy to safeguard public health while sustaining its role as a leading global tourism destination.
