Five Russian Tourists Arrested After Violent Outburst in Phuket Old Town

Phuket police have detained five Russian nationals following a late-night disturbance that shocked locals and tourists in the island’s bustling city center.

The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. on May 10th, when officers from Phuket City Police Station received reports of foreign tourists causing chaos along Rasada Road in the Talad Yai subdistrict. Witnesses described the group as intoxicated and aggressive, verbally abusing bystanders and physically assaulting both Thai citizens and fellow foreigners near the Midtown walking street area.

Police patrol units quickly arrived at the scene and managed to subdue the group before the situation escalated further. The suspects were taken into custody and escorted to Phuket City Police Station for questioning. Police confirmed that the arrests were made. Legal proceedings are now underway.

The violent outburst left many residents and visitors alarmed, showing ongoing concerns about alcohol-related disturbances in popular tourist zones. Authorities have pledged to pursue charges in accordance with Thai law to maintain public safety and order.
