An accident occurred at a curve near a hotel in Karon, leaving a French woman dead and another foreign national seriously injured.
A motorcycle carrying two foreign nationals lost control while navigating a sharp bend. The vehicle veered across lanes and collided head‑on with a van. The force of the impact threw both riders into the air.
Police reported that the passenger, a French woman, died instantly at the scene. The male rider, also a foreign national, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash. The incident shows ongoing concerns about road safety in Phuket, particularly on winding routes frequented by tourists.
