Patong-
Authorities in Kathu District have intensified efforts to maintain order along Patong Beach, a key tourist destination, by cracking down on unauthorized use of public space.
Kathu District Chief Akkarapol Sutthirak Jitsupap told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (May 6th) they conducted a coordinated operation to enforce beach zoning regulations.

During the inspection, seven vendors were arrested for placing umbrellas and beach chairs outside the designated zones. Patong Municipality has filed charges and imposed fines in accordance with local regulations.

Officials also explained the rules to the offenders, urging cooperation to prevent future violations. The district added that strict enforcement is necessary to preserve order and ensure Patong Beach remains welcoming and visually appealing for both domestic and international visitors.
