Phuket –
A young woman was hospitalized after being struck by a delivery truck inside a gas station in Phuket, leaving her with head trauma and ongoing symptoms. Her partner has vowed to pursue legal action and demand responsibility from the driver.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sunday (May 3rd) at a petrol station near a university. The victim’s boyfriend told The Phuket Express that he had parked his motorcycle to refuel while his girlfriend stood waiting nearby. A box truck entered the station, turning sharply before clipping the woman and knocking her to the ground. Witnesses said she appeared briefly unconscious.
The driver exited the vehicle and apologized, claiming he had not seen her. Emergency services were called, and the woman was rushed to Vachira Phuket Hospital. Doctors later confirmed she had suffered a concussion with ruptured capillaries, causing persistent dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. She remains under close medical observation.
The boyfriend has since filed a police report and is pressing for the driver, believed to be operating a commercial delivery vehicle, to cover initial medical expenses and provide ongoing long-term medical financial support. He stressed that the long-term impact of the injuries cannot yet be determined. Authorities are expected to review the case as the victim continues her recovery.
