Authorities in Phuket launched a coordinated operation in Patong to strengthen public safety and reinforce the island’s reputation as a world-class tourism destination.
Led by Deputy Governor Adul Chuthong, the inspection team included senior police officials, district administrators, and local representatives. Together, they carried out a comprehensive sweep of Bangla Road and establishments along Rat-U-Thit 200 Year Road, two of the province’s busiest nightlife and tourism hubs.
Officials checked compliance with licensing regulations for entertainment venues and restaurants, examined labor practices involving foreign workers, and enforced anti-narcotics measures. Several irregularities were identified, with documents and equipment seized for further investigation. Individuals linked to violations were referred to police investigators to ensure transparent and lawful proceedings.
Deputy Governor Adul stated that maintaining order and safety in Patong is critical to sustaining tourist confidence. “Phuket must uphold international standards of safety and hospitality. Tourists from around the world expect not only enjoyment but also assurance that the city is well-managed,” he said.
Beyond law enforcement, the province is advancing long-term urban management initiatives. These include traffic regulation, sidewalk improvements, expanded CCTV coverage, multilingual signage, and upgrades to public transport systems. Together, these measures hope to enhance visitor experience while projecting Phuket’s image as a safe, welcoming, and modern destination.
