Phuket Airport Launches Safety and Service Readiness for Songkran 2026

Phuket, April 8, 2026 —

Phuket International Airport has declared full readiness to ensure passenger safety and convenience during the upcoming Songkran holiday, unveiling a coordinated operation that brings together security agencies, local authorities, and airlines.

At 9:00 a.m., Airport Director Monchai Tahanod presided over a ceremonial lineup at Gate 8 of the international terminal, signaling the start of integrated measures for the busy travel period. Senior officials from the Royal Thai Police Region 8, Phuket Provincial Police, Sakhu Police, Immigration, Customs, the Royal Thai Navy’s special aviation unit, also joined the program.

Between April 11–19, passenger numbers are expected to surge as both Thai and international travelers flock to Phuket and nearby destinations for the Songkran festival. The airport’s security division explained its dual mission: safeguarding lives and property while facilitating smooth passenger services.

The lineup ceremony marked the integration of all relevant agencies to maximize preparedness. Measures include heightened security checks, streamlined passenger assistance, and rapid-response coordination to address any incidents. Officials stressed that the effort is designed to instill confidence among travelers and reinforce Phuket’s reputation as a safe and welcoming gateway during Thailand’s most celebrated holiday.

By combining security vigilance with service efficiency, Phuket International Airport wants to deliver a safe, orderly, and reassuring travel experience throughout the festive season.
