PHUKET-
Phuket police have launched a manhunt for a department store salesman accused of shooting a colleague inside a warehouse of a well-known shopping complex. Authorities have released surveillance footage capturing the violent incident and are urging the public to report any sightings of the suspect immediately.
The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred on April 6th, when 40-year-old Mr. Wirat (surname withheld), a salesman at the store, was shot twice, once in the torso and once in the thigh, allegedly by fellow salesman Mr. Prakit (surname withheld), aged 50. The victim managed to flee the scene and later contacted a friend to take him to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Witnesses told investigators that Mr. Wirat had phoned them shortly after the attack, identifying Mr. Prakit as the shooter. CCTV footage confirmed the account, showing Mr. Prakit chasing and firing at his colleague inside the warehouse before escaping.
On April 7th, Phuket City Police issued an official arrest warrant for Mr. Prakit, calling on the public to assist in locating him. Authorities said that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and they are working urgently to bring him into custody to face prosecution.
