Phuket Speedboat Fire Contained, Five People Injured-VIDEO

PHUKET –

Phuket authorities rushed to contain a speedboat fire at Ao Makham’s deep-sea port late Monday morning, successfully preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby vessels.

Officials told the Phuket Express that at approximately 10:50 a.m. on April 6th, the Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office received reports of a speedboat engulfed in flames at the busy port.

Emergency teams from Wichit Municipality, the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization, and local agencies were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control before the blaze could spread further. Rescue teams from the Kusoldharm Foundation provided urgent medical assistance, with five individuals confirmed injured and transported to local hospitals.

Officials are now investigating the cause of the fire while coordinating follow-up safety measures. The incident shows the importance of rapid inter-agency response in safeguarding Phuket’s maritime operations and tourist infrastructure.
